The Insights Center plays a critical role in all food value chains. The dynamic nature of value chains as depicted in the chart above, requires that data is monitored continually. For new and developing food value chains, reliable data and the insights that they produce affect feasibility planning, strategic planning, and overall business planning. Food21 value chains under development include Farm to Energy and Farm to Fork. Data is analyzed to assess the opportunity, to determine the feasibility of a value chain response, and to plan a business and financial approach that makes sense. An equally important step is to assess the interest of the potential stakeholders and to determine their priorities.
